Now, I’m not one to endorse anything, but I have to say something about The Mirror. It’s a workout/trainer thing that looks like a mirror, and you can see yourself in it, but there is a virtual trainer that shows up on it as well. What’s cool is that you can choose from 15 min, 30 min, and 45 min sessions. You can watch your form in the mirror so that you know that you are doing it right. The trainers walk through all the steps with you and you can choose classes from Cardio Boot Camp, to Meditation and Yoga.
I have to confess that I have done some 15 minute workouts to get started, but yesterday I did a 15 min Cardio:Strength training followed by 15 min yoga. I’m getting more flexible, which is something that I really need to work on b/c I am not the am to bend the way that I should without feeling it all over my body b/c I am so tense. There are stretching classes as well, so those have been really helpful in what I need to do in order to release all that tension.
There is still that part of me that doesn’t want to workout, but I have no excuses now. It’s just 7 steps away in what used to be our spare bedroom. Now it is the workout room, shared with Haddie the Hedgehog. And b/c of the heat lamps that Haddison needs, that room is wicked hot, making it perfect for sweating and hot yoga. And I can’t use the excuse of my social anxiety anymore b/c there is no one else working out with me but me, and the virtual trainer, who can’t see me.
Like I said, I try not to talk about one specific thing too much, but I have to tell you that I love my Mirror. It is making it much easier to workout from home without that feeling of being judged by others. The only part I hate is seeing myself in it. But, that is a poor self-body image thing that I have going on, not the Mirror itself.
